Our History
Mariachi Sol de Acapulco was founded in 1984 by Rudy Rodriguez & John Cochrane. The Mariachi was established to promote cultural awareness, and to promote the love of music.
Mariachi Sol de Acapulco strives to promote education and strongly encourages students to participate in music education. Many members of the Mariachi have continued higher education and have acquired master’s degrees.
Mariachi Sol de Acapulco has performed for former President of Mexico Vicente Fox, Tom Hanks and Bill Gates. Mariachi Sol de Acapulco has also performed with Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan and Los Camperos de Nati Cano. Mariachi Sol de Acapulco has accompanied recording artists Yolanda Del Rio and Mexico's Idol award winner Erasmo Catarino.
Mariachi Sol de Acapulco performs for weddings, quinceañeras, graduations, anniversaries, company parties and concerts. Mariachi Sol de Acapulco loves to perform!
